Why did Aditya Narayan throw a concertgoer’s phone in the crowd? Event management responds

The event manager claimed that the person whose phone was flung in the air by Aditya Narayan was "constantly dragging" the singer's feet.

Bollywood singer Aditya Narayan triggered online backlash after a video from a recent concert at a college in Chhattisgarh showed him throwing a fan’s phone into the crowd. In the video, Aditya was seen getting irked at a person from the audience and seemingly hitting him with a microphone.

Now, the event’s organisers have issued a statement saying that Aditya lost his cool at the audience member because they were trying to pull his leg while the singer was performing on the stage. The organisers also said that this person was not a student of Rungta R2 College in Bhilai, where the concert took place on Monday.

Talking to Zoom, the event manager whose name has not been disclosed in the report, said that the man was “constantly dragging Aditya’s feet,” which “irritated” the singer.

The event organiser alleged that the man also “banged his phone on Aditya’s feet multiple times” before Aditya lost his cool. The event manager said that Aditya seemed in a cheerful mood otherwise, as he took “almost 200 selfies with this student,” and the “whole concert went smoothly” for two hours even after the incident.

While Aditya is yet to comment on the incident, this is not the first time Aditya has lost his cool publicly, or on camera. In 2017, a video of him arguing with airport personnel at Raipur Airport also went viral. In the video, he could be seen threatening the airport security staff, saying, “If I don’t humiliate, then my name isn’t Aditya Narayan.”
