Call it the Aamir Khan effect! Celebrities are finding it difficult to attend press events these days for fear of being grilled on ‘intolerance’ and Aamir’s statements. In an industry where diplomacy is widely practised, it was not surprising to see stars leaving events in a huff without attending the mandatory press conferences post the Aamir Khan saga.
Raj Kundra’s event provided a glaring example. The event held to announce the launch of Raj’s brand new mobile phone company saw the presence of celebs like Malaika Arora Khan, Farah Khan, Shilpa Shetty and Jeetendra. To everybody’s surprise, the event was hurriedly concluded as soon as the brand new phones were launched. Shilpa Shetty was later chased by the media for bytes and even before one could ask her a question the actress remarked, “Oh I know what you will ask,” and left. The only brave one was Farah Khan who sportingly heard and answered a question on Aamir Khan.

Akshay Kumar is always politically correct. The Khiladi star, who held interviews for Airlift, began his chat by saying ‘let’s have fun guys.’ Some time into the interview when scribes asked him his take on the Aamir Khan issue, Akshay, ‘I don’t know and don’t try to get a quote out of me.’ Oh! How we love Twinkle for her outspokenness.

The usually media savvy King Khan too abruptly cut short his press interactions at two separate events. The first one being an event associated with a bank where he was the Chief Guest. With only one question being allowed to be asked to SRK, media personnel were left tad disappointed. However more surprise was in store at the second event – song launch of Dilwale.
SRK announced that he would have to leave the event after watching the new Manma song on the big screen much to everyone’s dismay.

A Q & A session with SRK is worth its weight in gold. Chants of ‘We want SRK’ echoed in the theatre but to no avail. SRK bid adieu leaving young guns Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon in charge. We are guessing SRK’s hurried exit had much to do with his busy schedule and not the Aamir Khan issue. The latter could have been easily handled by the Badshah of Bollywood using his ready wit and spontaneously charming quotes.
