Vivek Oberoi, who is currently focusing on his businesses in Dubai, recently shared his opinion on the infamous debate around entourage cost in Bollywood. The actor, in an interview, claimed, every time he wanted to upgrade a hotel room, he would do it with his own money, pointing people should also practice similar attitude. He said, “I always ask the producers, ‘what’s convenient for you?'”

In a conversation with NEWS18, Vivek Oberoi laughed as he was asked about the “absurd” entourage cost of stars. He said, “I have never done it”. He added, “I am very simple man. I hear such reports. At my house, whatever cars I love, I own them. But, when I go to a shoot, I ask them (producers), ‘What’s convenient for you?’ If its Innova, it works for me. As long as its comfortable and gets me from my hotel to the set, I will come and shoot.” Adding, “When I will want to drive a car, I will buy it with my own money and enjoy.”

Vivek Oberoi pointed, how people in the industry will have to change their attitude. “I think it adds unnecessary cost to cinema.” However, he said, its an exception “when you are expected to look a certain way, especially for girls, then its worth it.”

Giving his own example, the Saathiya star said, “In my case, what I have done is, when people didn’t have the budget for a team that I want or my staff who is been with me for 20+ years, I say don’t worry about it, I will take care of it with my own money. I will pay them. If I want an upgrade in terms of an hotel, I will pay for it. I am being paid enough to do a film.”

In the same interview, Vivek Oberoi shared he thinks Vicky Kaushal is the most “underrated” actor in Bollywood. Recalling his recent meeting with the Sam Bahadur star, Vivek said, “I have been looking at Vicky Kaushal’s work, and I think he is a power house. He is just phenomenal. I love the guy, I love his family. He visited me in my Dubai office. He was promoting Sam Bahadur at that time. What a good human being. You see him in a film like Sam Bahadur, you see him in an URI and then you see him in a comedy, a love story, you see him dancing on stage. God bless him. I hope he achieves super stardom because he deserves it.”

Vivek, who has been very selective about his projects in the past few years, admitted he would have loved to be part of Ranbir Kapoor-starrer Animal. In the interview, during the rapid fire round, when the actor was asked, “A movie you wish you were a part of…,” Vivek quickly replied “Animal”. Adding as he laughed, “Its so controversial.”
