Actor Vicky Kaushal, who shot to fame with his portrayal of a simple boy next door in Masaan, will now be seen in a completely lean and dehydrated avatar in Anurag Kashyap’s upcoming psychological thriller Raman Raghav 2.0.

Anurag Kashyap wanted Vicky to look dehydrated and fat free for his role of a reckless cop who is a substance abuser in the film.

In order to play his part, Vicky had to cut down on his appetite and give up his regular food habits.

“My character in the film is a drug addicted. Anurag Sir wanted me to lose a lot of fat and look completely lean and dehydrated in the film. For this, I had to follow a strict diet. My workout regime included a lot of body weight training and cardio and very less consumption of water during the shoot of the film,” Vicky said.

Raman Raghav 2.0 narrates the story of the serial killer Raman Raghav, who went on a murder spree in Mumbai in the 1960s. The film, which also stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui playing the role of a notorious serial killer, is all set to hit theaters on June 24.
