Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya, the romantic comedy starring Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon, is maintaining momentum at the ticket counters after a mediocre opening. The film, which witnessed a significant drop in its collections on its first Monday, showed some growth on Tuesday.
According to industry tracker Sacnilk, Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya’s box office collection on Day 5 was Rs 3.85 crore (early estimates) in comparison to Monday’s Rs 3.65 crore. The film is probably reaping the benefits of the Valentine’s Week. Currently, the total domestic collections of the film stand at Rs 34.6 crore in five days. Worldwide, it will soon cross the Rs 60 crore mark.
Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya is doing better at the box office than Kartik Aaryan’s Shehzada, which was released in theatres around the same time last year. That film ended its run with Rs 32.02 crore. Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya, written and directed by Amit Joshi and Aradhana Sah, is currently the second-biggest Hindi film of the year at the 2024 box office, after Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone-led Fighter (Rs 199 crore). Two other Bollywood releases, Main Atal Hoon and Merry Christmas, didn’t make an impact at the box office.
To lure the audience to cinema halls, the makers of Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya are offering a buy-one-get-one-free offer on Valentine’s Day. The film is expected to experience a bigger bump in collections today. The Indian Express’ film critic Shubhra Gupta gave Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya two stars, and called it a ‘mish-mash’ of genres. A part of the review read, “For a film which wants to be a family entertainer, there are risible sequences featuring men peering down low-cut blouses-and-bosoms, and tasteless wife joke.”
