Actor Aparshakti Khurana doesn’t want to call the shots but wants to be at least treated respectfully. Without dropping any names, Aparshakti revealed how a lead actor of a film he had featured in asked the producers to not call him on stage on the day of the trailer launch of the film.

In an interview with Lallantop, Aparshakti Khurana opened up about the time he was mistreated by his co-star, in an obvious power-play move. The actor recalled that while he was filming, it was an amazing set and the cast and crew had a great time, but what happened at the trailer launch day took him by surprise.

“We all saw the film—which had turned out very well—before the trailer launch. We all liked the film, but on the day of the trailer launch, the actor told the producer three minutes before, that Aparshakti shouldn’t be on the stage, you can call all the other actors,” he said.

Aparshakti Khurana recalled how he was shooting in Amritsar and had especially come down to Mumbai to attend the trailer launch of the film, where he was snubbed in front of everyone by the actor.

“I was all dressed up, I like doing that, and I stood right near the aisle. Someone from the PR team informed me that some ‘last minute changes’ are there and I will be introduced separately. I kept waiting, the entire trailer launch got over, people left. I’ve reached a stage where I can least have a say,” he added.

Aparshakti has been vocal about his struggle with the power dynamics within the industry, including the perception battle which took off with his latest release Stree 2. The actor had spoken against the PR war that erupted after the blockbuster success of the film, and had answered a question on actor Shraddha Kapoor getting credit for the film, calling it a “PR Game.” The actor will be next seen in the ZEE5 Original film Berlin, co-starring Rahul Bose and Ishwak Singh.
