Actors Tamannaah Bhatia and Vijay Varma made the front page of publications across the country when they started dating and also during their breakup. The rumour mill had been following the split for weeks, and the two finally called it off in March 2025. Since the breakup, Tamannaah hasn’t spoken much about relationships in general, but that changed during a recent interview, where the actor shared her plans about the kind of partner she wants to become in the future.

While talking to NDTV about her upcoming show with Diana Penty, Tamannaah also reflected on romantic relationships. She talked about the kind of person she wants to become for future romantic endeavours and said, “I am trying to work on becoming a great life partner. So that’s the quest at the moment. I want to be that life partner that someone feels like they have done some good karma in their past life. That’s why I have come into their life. Whoever the lucky person is, I am working for it. The package shall arrive soon.”

The actor has expressed her opinions about love in the past as well. While talking to fitness influencer Luke Coutinho in an old interview, Tamannaah talked about the important distinction between love and a relationship between two people. She said, “I think there are a few things that I recently realised. One is that people confuse what love is and what a relationship is. I don’t even mean necessarily in a man-woman relationship, but even in friends. The moment it is conditional, I feel like it ceases to be love in that moment.”

She added, “Love can only be unconditional; it can only be ek tarfa (one sided). It is your love. Two people can individually love each other, but essentially love is an inside job; it’s how you feel for someone. The moment you have expectations and you want people to do what you want them to be doing, then it’s just transactional.” These statements became the hot topic for discourse during the weeks leading up to Tamannaah and Vijay’s breakup. She said that love for her is “letting the other person be free” and restricting yourself from “projecting” on your partner.

On the professional front, Tamannaah’s web series Do You Wanna Partner? is currently streaming on Prime Video. The cast also includes Diana, Indraneil Sengupta, Jaaved Jaaferi, Neeraj Kabi, Ayesha Raza Mishra, and Rannvijay Singh.
