Stree 2 box office collection day 12: Rajkummar Rao, Shraddha Kapoor-starrer just Rs 35 crore shy of beating KGF 2’s record

In terms of the best 11-day performance of any Hindi film so far, Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan tops the list with Rs 430.44 cr, followed by Stree 2, which entered the Rs 400 cr club on its 11th day, as per the production house. Stree 2 will now chase the Hindi box office record of Yash-starrer KGF Chapter 2, which had clocked in Rs 435 cr in its entire run. The horror comedy will easily surpass the figures in the coming days and then enter the Rs 500 cr club by the end of the week.

Once it enters the coveted club, it will dethrone Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal (Rs 505 cr) and then chase other record-holders on the list, including Baahubali 2: The Conclusion (Rs 511 cr), Pathaan (Rs 524 cr), Gadar 2 (Rs 525 cr) and Jawan, which stands at Rs 584 cr.

Stree 2 is almost Rs 165 cr short of Jawan’s all-time record. The film, also starring Aparshakti Khurana, Abhishek Banerjee and Pankaj Tripathi, will have a free run at the box office for the rest of September as well. Barring Kangana Ranaut’s Emergency, Siddhant Chaturvedi’s actioner Yudhra, and Kareena Kapoor’s The Buckingham Murders, the month of September is relatively lean.
