Actor Gulshan Devaiah, who shared the screen with Janhvi Kapoor in Ulajh, had earlier revealed that he didn’t vibe with her during the shoot of their film. In fact, Janhvi had to face a lot of social media trolling as an aftermath of his remark. In a recent interview, Gulshan opened up about his statement, which was taken out of context. He also revealed that while she was absolutely cool about it later, her PR team was ‘sweating’.

During a chat with News18 Showsha, Gulshan recalled the time when Janhvi had to face brutal online negativity and said, “People trolled her, but the point I was trying to make was that you don’t have to be friends or vibe with people you are working with because end of the day we are professionals. I can’t expect to vibe with everybody. If I want to work with only people who I vibe with, then that’s also fine. But, that’s not why I am an actor.”

The actor added, “She got a lot of trolling, but I always make it clear to people that I am a bit unpredictable sometimes. I saw her PR team sweating after that. Every time we are together, they are all standing behind the camera, they’re pacing up and down thinking, ‘I don’t know what this guy is going to say now.’ It is just my way of having fun with the whole promotion process. If you feel that I am crossing the line somewhere, let me know.”

Gulshan Devaiah even apologised to Janhvi Kapoor and she was absolutely chill about it. “So, I told her I am sorry and it’s just my sense of humour, so she was chill with it. I think I still have that message or maybe I deleted it. It was voice notes; we used to send each other voice notes. She responded very sweetly in a long voice message and said that I understand. She is a completely different person and keeps to herself,” he shared.

Gulshan further mentioned that as actors, they have to work with people they don’t really connect with. The acor said, “Sometimes, you have to work with people you don’t vibe with. Sometimes, you have to work with people who are terrible. I have done that. There are some senior people in the business who are very difficult to work with. I have had those experiences. I had a terrible experience of working with Mr. Tom Alter. He is a wonderful man actually, he was so kind.”

The 47-year-old continued, “But, he was so difficult to work with because we didn’t know he was going through cancer. It was terrible. We were wondering why he was being so rude and uptight. One day, I even went and told him that you are a thespian, we respect you, but please don’t think that we are all these young actors who want to upstage you, I don’t know what you’re thinking. He never shared with anybody that he was battling cancer. I got to know when he died. There are some others also. I wouldn’t like to name them, but they can be difficult to work with.”
