Shalini Passi emerged as the highlight of the latest season of the Netflix show Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives. She joined the cast along with Ranbir Kapoor’s sister Riddhima Sahni and Kalyani Chawla. In the show, Shalini was a part of the Delhi group, but found herself becoming the object of attention because of her irreverent antics. In the end, her own group started to resent her for getting the most limelight, while the Mumbai group saw her as massively entertaining.
After the show’s debut, audiences were hungry to uncover more details about the socialite, who is married to businessman Sanjay Passi. The drama that audiences witnessed on the show appeared to spill over into real life recently, when Shalini walked out of a promotional interview. Her sudden departure left her co-stars Neelam Kothari, Bhavana Pandey, Seema Sajdeh, Maheep Kapoor, Riddhima Sahni, and Kalyani Chawla gobsmacked.
In a video of the incident, Shalini can be seen walking out of an interview, saying, “I need a break,” and telling the others, “You girls continue”.

Moments earlier in the Galatta India interview, Riddhima pointed towards Shalini and said, “Behind this diva and everything, this girl is a total vibe. She is a chiller. She’s a really nice person. She is a very easy girl. She is somebody you can talk to. Of course, Kalyani is amazing, but she is a very giving person, which is an amazing quality about Shalini.”
This made Shalini emotional, making her leave the interview abruptly, leaving her friends and the interviewer in shock. She returned after a while, seemingly having cried off camera.
Shalini’s carefree personality and love for singing, dancing, hosting events, and collecting art pieces from across the world amused the OG Bollywood wives. In the show, the makers also give a sneak peek into Shalini’s museum-like house in Delhi. In the first episode itself, Shalini caught the attention of the Bombay gang after channeling Cleopatra at a ball.
In another episode, Shalini surprised Neelam, Maheep, Seema and Bhavana after she welcomed them with live music at her residence in Delhi. She sang “Mere Mann Yeh Bata De Tu” for her guests. Talking to camera, Neelam said, “I never received a welcome like this,” while Seema said, “I swear, dude, I live for moments like this.” In another episode, she entertained Karan Johar and the others with an impromptu dance at a restaurant.
Shalini Passi is an art collector, artist, and philanthropist. She is married to businessman Sanjay Passi.
