Shah Rukh Khan says it’s unfortunate that Nayanthara’s character did not get more screen time in Jawan: ‘In the scheme of things…’

Shah Rukh Khan is basking in the success of his film Jawan, which also stars Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi in the lead roles, and features a special appearance by Deepika Padukone. The movie has now collected an impressive Rs 473.44 crore within just 15 days of its release. Shah Rukh has been personally responding to fans on the internet, expressing his gratitude for their love and support towards the film.

During an Ask Me Anything session hosted by SRK on Friday, a fan praised the actor’s character Azad and his connection with Suji in Jawan. The fan liked how the movie subtly depicted the single mom’s (played by Nayanthara) story, and expressed gratitude for the film’s representation of women from various walks of life.

Replying to the fan’s comment, Shah Rukh Khan wrote, “I also felt that the story of Narmada as a single mom was amazing. Unfortunately in the scheme of things couldn’t find more screen time but as is was also wonderful.”

In the film, Nayanthara plays the character of Narmada Rai, a special agent and the love interest of Shah Rukh Khan. Earlier reports suggested that Nayanthara was unhappy with Atlee, with a source telling Hindustan Times that she was upset because her role in the film had been significantly edited or reduced.

Earlier, Shah Rukh Khan had heaped praise on Nayanthara. He wrote on X, “She is so beautiful and such a wonderful actor. Has added immensely to her role. Hope her fans in Tamil Nadu fall in love with her all over again and Hindi audience appreciates her hard work.”

Jawan also stars Priyamani, Sanya Malhotra, Sunil Grover, Ridhi Dogra, Sanjeeta Bhattacharya, Girija Oak, Lehar Khan, Aaliyah Qureishi, and Eijaz Khan.
