When a real-life troll called Shah Rukh Khan a ‘bakwas actor’ to his face: ‘He was so gracious, took it so well’
Gulshan Devaiah shared an incident where a person walked up to Shah Rukh Khan and called him a 'bakwas actor'.

Shah Rukh Khan has been in the movies for over 30 years and while one might imagine that SRK is always surrounded by his fans, the actor has been through experiences where a real-life troll walked up to him and criticised his acting. Gulshan Devaiah recently shared an incident, that he was told by Anurag Kashyap, where a person walked up to Anurag and SRK and called him ‘bakwas’.
In a chat with The Lallantop, Gulshan shared, “Anurag once told me that someone said this to Shah Rukh in front of him. ‘Yaar, tu kya actor hai, tu toh bakwas actor hai. Tujhe aata nahi hai, inse kuch seekho (pointing towards Anurag)’ Aise Anurag ko bola (What kind of an actor are you? You are a bad actor, learn something from Anurag). But he was so gracious, he took it so well.”
Gulshan said that this was like a troll walking up to Shah Rukh and saying anything just to get a reaction out of him. “But he is so composed that he did not give an adverse reaction. He took it so well,” he said and added, “These people are great because they know how to conduct themselves. They have thick skin and they know how to handle the world. They know how to behave with the world. He is very good at meeting people. That’s why he is such a big star, everyone loves him.”
Gulshan said that everyone who meets SRK in person is in awe of the actor and he had a similar experience. ” He met me so nicely,” he recalled. He shared that back in 2011, when Gulshan was receiving a lot of praise for That Girl in Yellow Boots and Shaitaan, he met SRK at a Filmfare event. He was with Anurag Kashyap and Kalki Koechlin and the star was talking to them. He then invited them to an after party at his house.
When Anurag and Kalki said that Gulshan was with them, he invited him too. “I was drenched in sweat. And I was like ‘what am I doing?’.” Gulshan said that at the time, he was still coming to terms with the other aspects of being an actor, apart from acting. He shared that while he had complete confidence in his craft, he wasn’t very confident with himself. “In my head, I wasn’t ready for this. I was ready to work but I wasn’t comfortable in this environment.”
Gulshan was recently seen in Dahaad. He will next be seen in Raj & DK’s Guns & Gulaabs.
