‘Shah Rukh Khan feels like a real person, Salman Khan seems like an AI-generated character’: Varun Grover

Varun explained, “I’ve never met Salman. I’ve met Shah Rukh. There are people who feel like they exist. Shah Rukh Khan exists. He feels real. Salman Khan exists only on the big screen; he might not exist in real life. He’s like an AI-generated character. If I ever meet him in person, maybe my perception will change. But it would still be difficult for me to believe that there’s a version of him that is separate from the version we see in films. You understand Shah Rukh’s personality; with Salman, even in his interviews, it feels like one of his characters is talking.”

A reputed comedian, Varun is perhaps best known in the film world for writing the screenplay for Masaan, and lyrics for the songs in Gangs of Wasseypur. He recently made his directorial debut with the film All India Rank, and has also served as a writer on the Netflix series Sacred Games.
