More often than not, tantrums of the starry kind is par for the course in the entertainment industry. But there are times when some of these starry tantrums aren’t true, and is just a figment of someone’s imagination who thinks they know the stars better. Such a thing happened to National Award winner Saurabh Shukla on the sets of Salman Khan‘s Kick.
In an interview to the Digital Commentary channel, Saurabh opened up about an incident that occurred during the shoot of Sajid Nadiadwala’s Kick. The film featured Salman, Jacqueline Fernandez, and Randeep Hooda in lead roles. Saurabh played Jacqueline’s father in the movie, and essayed the role of an Indian ambassador. The actor shared that in one of the scenes when he meets his daughter’s suitor Devi Lal Singh, played by Salman, they had a rather interesting exchange. “Salman’s character is meeting me for the first time as my daughter’s boyfriend. Interestingly, the scene is written in such a way that he asks me about my salary, my savings, etc… So when I am asked that question, I reacted in a way that showed the audience that I was stumped and shocked by that question,” said Saurabh.
“After the scene was shot, one of Salman’s assistants came up to me, and said that I have to change my reaction in that scene. The assistant felt I should act scared in front of Salman’s Devi Lal Singh. While I tried to argue that such a reaction doesn’t make sense, his assistant pointed out that Salman might not like that reaction,” added Saurabh, who went on to reveal Salman’s reaction to what unfolded.
“Salman called his assistant, and asked him to not disturb me at all. He told him that my acting was on point, and it was the perfect response to the scene,” said Saurabh, who used this incident to elucidate how many people in the entourage start making decisions for the star, and it creates a wrong impression. “Salman liked it… but see how things could have become difficult.”
Saurabh Shukla, who was last seen in Bhediya, is returning as Justice Sunderlal Tripathi in the third instalment of the Jolly LLB franchise, which also stars Arshad Warsi and Akshay Kumar as the leads. On the other hand, Salman Khan is awaiting the release of his much-anticipated AR Murugadoss film, Sikandar, which is set to hit the screens this Eid.
