‘Sana Khan was always a religious girl, but made a complete switch when she married Maulana sahab and quit industry’, says Zareen Khan
Actor Zareen Khan spoke about Sana Khan's decision to quit the entertainment industry and embark upon a religious path. She said that Sana was already a very religious person even before she made the decision.

Some years ago, actor Sana Khan quit the entertainment industry, married a cleric, and declared that she was embarking upon a religious path. Sana gained fame after appearing on the reality show Bigg Boss, and then made her big screen debut in the Salman Khan-starrer Jai Ho. Actor Zareen Khan, who also debuted in a Salman-starrer, Veer, spoke about Sana’s decision to quit the entertainment industry and embrace a religious life. Zareen said that Sana was already a very religious person even when she was working in the world of films and television, and presenting herself as a highly glamorous person.
In an interview with Hindi Rush, Zareen was asked about Sana’s decision to quit the business, and she made it clear that she isn’t very close friends with her, but knows her enough to respect her choices. She said, “I know Sana a little bit, and now people know that she has fully embraced religion. But what people don’t know is that she was just as religious when she was a part of the industry. She would pray regularly, but unfortunately, unless people see visible proof of one’s devotion, they don’t believe it. People assume that glamorous women can’t be religious, but how do they know what we do in our personal time?” Zareen continued, “Faith is a very intimate relationship between you and God. You don’t have to publicise it. Sana was always religious, but then, she made a complete switch when she got married to Maulana sahab. It’s her life, I’m happy for her.”
In the same interview, Zareen admitted that, like Sana, she has been offered Bigg Boss. But she hasn’t found it in herself to do the show. She said that she cannot be away from her elderly mother for three months, because there is nobody else to look after her. She also doubts her capacity for rudeness, which many Bigg Boss contestants are known to display. If she were to do the show, it would bring her face to face with Salman, whom she hasn’t been in touch with for quite some time, she said.
Sana and her husband, Mufti Anas Saiyed, have two children. On Rubina Dilaik’s YouTube channel, Sana was asked what triggered her spiritual awakening, and she said, “There are a lot of things. Being born in a Muslim family, being born as a Muslim. What is good and what is bad, we all know it. Every Muslim knows what is Halaal and Haraam. I knew that this was not correct, what I am doing… I am reading Quran, but I am not leading a life that Allah wants me to lead.”
