Firing outside Salman Khan’s Galaxy Apartments: Salim Khan slams ‘jaahil log’ who made threats against family
Salman Khan's father, veteran writer Salim Khan, has spoken about the recent firing outside their family home in Mumbai.

Days after two individuals fired multiple shots outside Bollywood actor Salman Khan’s Galaxy Apartments home in Mumbai, the actor’s father, noted screenwriter Salim Khan, spoke about the incident. The 88-year-old, who lives in the same building as Salman, told India today, “There is nothing to fear. The matter is now with the police. The Maharashtra government has assured full protection. Salman will continue his schedule as usual.”
Two suspects riding a motorcycle allegedly fired five rounds outside Salman’s Bandra residence at around 5 am on Sunday. Salman and his family were present at home when the incident took place. Salman already has Y-plus category security. However, in light of the recent incident, authorities have taken extra measures to ensure the actor and his family remain safe. Salim Khan said that he has been advised to not make public statements about the ongoing matter. “What’s there to talk about ye jaahil log jo kehte hain maar denge tab pata lagega na (These illiterate people say you’ll learn your lesson when we’ll kill you),” he said.

On Tuesday, following the incident, Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde met Salman at his residence and reassured the actor that he and his family would be protected even as Mumbai Police continue with their investigation. “I have assured Salman Khan that the government stands behind him, and his safety is the government’s responsibility. The government will ensure that no one dares to do such an act in Mumbai,” Shinde was quoted as saying while speaking with reporters, said PTI. On Sunday, MNS chief Raj Thackeray and sister Arpita Sharma also visited Salman and family at his Bandra home.

Actor Pooja Bhatt also condemned the firing, calling it ‘scary.‘ “Horrific and condemnable. If this can happen with a police van parked outside the Khan residence for protection then it is fair to say that safety is an illusion. Need more stringent surveillance in Bandra for certain. Robberies were rife a while ago and now a shoot out? Scary,” she tweeted
Salman’s brother, actor-producer Arbaaz Khan, took to his social media to address the incident. He called the incident of firing “very disturbing” and “unnerving”. “Our family has been taken aback by this shocking incident that took place,” wrote Arbaaz, adding, “No member of the Salim Khan family has made any statement regarding this incident to the media. At this time the family is helping and cooperating with the police in the investigation of this untoward incident. We have faith in the Mumbai police and we have been assured they will do everything in their capacity to protect and secure our family. Thank you everyone for your love and support (sic).”
In a Facebook post allegedly uploaded by Anmol Bishnoi, the younger brother of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, he claimed responsibility for the firing.
