Actors Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt have recreated the hook step of their song “What Jhumka” for a promotional video of Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahaani, much to the delight of fans.
In the video, the duo is seen racing inside Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions office as they reach a point and start doing the hook step of the song. The video also features Karan appearing at the end with a confused look.
Ranveer Singh posted the video on his Instagram account and wrote in the caption, “POV: When you simply have to make it in time for the Beat Drop!!!” Sara Ali Khan commented with laughing and heart emoticons on the post.
Netizens seemed to enjoy the video, especially Ranveer’s expressions in the promo. A fan wrote, “Ranveer Singh Expression!”, while another one commented, “I appreciate that how Ranveer is so fully committed to the character even for a promo!”
The first song of the film, “Tum Kya Mile”, was shot in Kashmir. Upon the release of the track, Alia recreated the song at a beach. She posted the video and wrote in the caption, “Pehle pahado mein aur ab beach pe… hum toh gaate rahenge #TumKyaMile.”
Ranveer also made a similar video but gave a hilarious twist to it as he danced with different beaches in the background. He wrote, “Alia ke reel jitna budget nahi thha #TumKyaMile #RRKPK @aliaabhatt.”
Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahaani marks Karan Johar’s return to feature film direction after seven years. His last feature directorial was Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, starring Fawad Khan, Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma.
Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahaani also celebrates 25 years of the filmmaker in Bollywood. The movie also stars Shabana Azmi, Jaya Bachchan and Dharmendra in pivotal roles and will release in theatres on July 28.
