Punjab 95 teaser: Diljit Dosanjh plays courageous activist Jaswant Singh Khalra; film to finally release on this date
Diljit Dosanjh-starrer Punjab 95 previously faced significant obstacles with the CBFC allegedly suggesting 120 cuts due to its sensitive subject.

As promised, Diljit Dosanjh shared the teaser of the much-anticipated film Punjab 95 on Friday with a special message. The Punjabi actor-singer took to his X handle to share the teaser and mentioned, “Full Movie, No Cuts.” His caption was accompanied with the hashtag Challenge The Darkness. The film, directed by Honey Trehan and produced by Ronnie Screwvala, is all set to theatres on February 7.
The teaser begins with Arjun Rampal’s character saying, “Look at the history of Punjab, sir. Be it the dispute over its rivers or the operation Bluestar, Indira Gandhi’s assassination or the riots of 1984, from President’s rule to the chief minister’s assassination and now… why is Punjab suffering?”
The teaser then introduces Diljit Dosanjh, who plays Sikh rights activist Jaswant Singh Khalra looking into the disappearance of Sukhdev Singh. Dosanjh is seen clicking pictures and looking for leads to unravel the missing case of Sukhdev, putting his own life in danger.
The film is based on the life of Jaswant Singh Khalra, who exposed 25,000 unlawful killings, disappearances and secret cremations by Punjab Police. The film will reportedly showcase his fight for justice before his kidnapping, torture, and murder by the same police force. Six police officials were allegedly convicted of the crime.
