(Image: Priyanka Chopra/Facebook) Social media has been abuzz with excitement ever since power couple Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas announced the birth of their daughter, Malti Marie Chopra-Jonas, in January 2022. Fans can’t seem to get enough of the adorable family and are eagerly waiting for more updates.
Speaking to the hosts of American Broadcasting Company’s (ABC) talk show The View, Chopra narrated how Malti has brought positive changes to her and Nick’s lives. Priyanka also spoke highly about her mother Madhu Chopra and mother-in-law Denise Jonas who have been helping her and Nick by taking care of Malti while the two are away for work.

When the hosts asked if Malti’s birth made Chopra, who has been working non-stop since she was a teenager, slow down and reprioritise things, the 40-year-old global icon replied “Definitely,” without missing a beat. “I was really grateful that she happened to me at a time when I had the ability to put a pin in it. Not everyone has the ability to say, ‘Hey I won’t go to work’ or take a year off, but I did. I took a year off and I’m someone who has done four movies a year because I’m greedy. I don’t want anyone else to do the job; just in case I don’t get it again. I still have that energy. But when she came there’s nothing else that matters. She is my homing signal. Wherever I go, I have to come back home. She is with me everywhere. She is in New York right now which means my mother schlepped everywhere.”
“I can’t go to work without her (Malti) being with someone in the family. My mom loves it though. Malti is with my mother-in-law right now. Between my mom and my mother-in-law, I and my husband have so much support to be able to do our jobs,” Chopra added.
Referring to Malti Marie’s first visit to India with her parents, Chopra said: “It meant everything. She loved everything about India — the sights, the sound, the fact that you don’t need car seats. I was like, ‘Oh boy, getting her back into the car seat will be an issue’. She loved everything. She had right hand paneer and left hand paneer in her mouth. Loved Indian food, loved the sights, the sounds. It made me so happy we could be there as a family — Nick, me and the baby. It was so special.”
