Priyanka Chopra has taken the USA by storm with ‘Quantico’ hitting the bull’s eye and making her a popular Indian name in the West. The actress, who shuttles frequently between India and USA, believes that Indian cinema has opened up internationally in a wide way today.

“The globe is opening up to the idea of what Indian films are. There is a stereotype of Hindi movies that we break out into song and dance without reason. But I think it is about the education of people to understand what Indian cinema is all about.We come from one of the most prolific film industries in the world. We make about almost 900000 films per year. It s about educating the world that this is what the Indian film industry is. We may have a different language but we are a force to recokn with today,” said Priyanka.

Throwing light on how influential Indian cinema has become outside of America, Priyanka said, “The success of Quantico shows the power of Indian film industry outside of America. Quantico has gone to 44 countries simultaneously and that is a big testament about the power of Hindi cinema because it went before the pilot was even aired because people knew me because of Hindi cinema. So there is a big warming up that is happening. Films like Bajirao Mastani which are so epic and a quintessential testament of what Hindi movie storytelling is don’t take your intelligence for granted.”
