Vindu Dara Singh calls Prabhas-starrer Adipurush ‘a huge mistake’, reveals director Om Raut was asked to change dialogues during shooting

Vindu Dara Singh recently opened up about being upset with the makers of Adipurush for not showing the right things and he called the Prabhas, Kriti Sanon-starrer 'a mess'.

Actor Vindu Dara Singh recently spoke about all the things that were wrong in Prabhas, Kriti Sanon, and Saif Ali Khan-starrer Adipurush. Vindu who has a special connection with Ramayana has also carried his father Dara Singh’s legacy of playing the role of Hanuman on-screen as well as on stage. Recently, Vindu spoke to Siddharth Kannan about his connection to playing this mythological character and the things that he needs to keep in mind when doing so. During this conversation, Vindu also revealed that Adipurush director Om Raut and writer Manoj Muntashir were questioned on the dialogues even when they were shooting for the film.

Calling Adipurush “a huge mistake”, Vindu said, “It was shocking to see how such a talented director and producer could make a mistake like this. If they wanted to pass on the buck to the kids, they should have at least shown the right things. The film was a mess, a huge mistake. I didn’t expect it.”

Referring to Om Raut showing Lanka as black, whereas it is said to be made of gold, Vindu even went on to share, “In fact, the actors who worked in the film told me that they would ask the director and writer to change the dialogues as they felt it was wrong. But the makers didn’t do so as they believed they were making something exceptional. I am sure, they will not repeat a mistake like this again.”

Vindu, who has played Hanuman on screen after his father Dara Singh, also shared, “When I got to play Hanuman in a Sony TV show called Jai Veer Hanuman, dad gave me some rules to follow. He told me not to eat anything wrong, or have any bad thoughts when I wore the costume. I have worshipped Hanuman like no other actor has. I have done Hanuman roles with Nagarjuna and NTR Jr in South films. And till date when I play the role I follow all those rules no matter which part of the world I perform in.”

For those who don’t know, Adipurush released in 2023 faced a lot of backlash for the creative liberty the markers had taken. Certain dialogues from the movie were also objectionable and invited a lot of flak, as a result of which the makers had to make a few changes and re-release the film. Nevertheless, all the controversies affected the film both critically and commercially.
