Paresh Rawal says Salman Khan ‘hasste khelte shoot karlega’, while Aamir Khan has to ‘know everything’: ‘Kabhi kabhi lagta tha ki…’
In a recent interview, veteran actor Paresh Rawal opened up about his experience working with Aamir Khan and Salman Khan in the cult classic comedy Andaz Apna Apna.

Rajkumar Santoshi’s 1994 cult classic Andaz Apna Apna featured the two Khans, Aamir and Salman. The film also starred Paresh Rawal in a dual role, as Ram Gopal Bajaj and his twin brother Teja. In a recent conversation with Radio Nasha Official, the veteran actor opened up about his experience working with Aamir Khan and Salman Khan. Paresh also spoke about how working on Andaz Apna Apna differed from his other comedy films.
Describing the two actors as polar opposites, Paresh said, “Salman’s own charm and charisma is so powerful. He was like a breeze. But, with Aamir, his way of working is methodical. Salman toh hasste khelte aayega aur karlega, Aamir has to know everything. So, kabhi kabhi lagta tha ki thoda toh kahin par manufacture kia hua lagta hai. But, when you see his final impact, it’s amazing.”

When asked about laughing at their own jokes and punchlines while shooting a comedy film, Paresh Rawal shared, “I am really fortunate and lucky that Raj (Rajkumar Santoshi) gave me this film (Andaz Apna Apna). When you do a comedy film, you don’t laugh while shooting. Many people say Hera Pheri was so funny but we didn’t even know. But this (Andaz Apna Apna) is the only film in which we were having fun even while making it. The way our director was explaining every scene, we used to have a lot of fun and we knew deep down that it’s funny.”
It was disappointing for Paresh Rawal that Andaz Apna Apna—which is being re-released in theatres on April 25—didn’t receive the recognition it deserved upon its original release. “It just didn’t get the release it deserved, that was a misfire. Hence we didn’t get that good of a response. But, it has grown a lot in the past few years,” he concluded.
