In his earlier tweet, Akshay Kumar had asked blessings for the film’s success. He wrote, “Need your blessings and wishes for #OMG2, our honest and humble attempt to reflect on an important social issue. May the eternal energy of Adiyogi bless us through this journey.”

Written and directed by Amit Rai, OMG 2 will release in theatres on August 11 and have a box office face-off with Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2. Presented by Viacom18 Studio ​in association with Cape Of Good Films ​& Wakaoo Films, OMG 2 also has filmmaker Chandraprakash Dwivedi attached as creative producer. Dwivedi had last year helmed Akshay Kumar starrer Prithviraj.

OMG 2 will be Akshay’s second theatrical release of the year, after the box office washout Selfiee, co-starring Emraan Hashmi. The actor has been going through a rough phase with consecutive films bombing at the box office.
