OMG 2 box office collection Day 13: Akshay Kumar-Pankaj Tripathi film makes Rs 123 crore, would it have earned more with UA certificate?
OMG 2 box office collection Day 13: OMG 2 has emerged as Akshay Kumar's biggest hit since his 2021 film Sooryavanshi.

Akshay Kumar and Pankaj Tripathi-starrer OMG 2 has managed to make a mark at the box office even though it released alongside Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2. After 13 days in cinemas, OMG 2 has managed to make Rs 123.73 crore, as per industry tracker Sacnilk. On the 13th day, the film made only Rs 3.01 crore (early estimates) at the box office.
In the past three days, the film has been stuck at the Rs 3 crore mark, and it is yet to be seen if the film will hold its own with Ayushmann Khurrana’s Dream Girl 2 releasing in theatres this weekend. Gadar 2 has already made over Rs 411 crore at the box office, and is maintaining its pace.
‘OMG 2 was made for teenagers’
It has been suggested that the film could have made more money if it had been given a U/A certificate instead of an A certificate by the Central Board of Film Certification. The film deals with the subject of sex education among teenagers, which the CBFC decided was only suitable for adults. At an earlier screening of the film, Akshay Kumar said, “Kamaal ki baat bataun, pehli adult film hai joh teenagers ke liye bani hai. Actually yeh sab school main dikhana chahiye (The funny thing is that this is the first adult film which is made for teenagers. This should be shown in schools).”
OMG 2 has emerged as Akshay’s biggest hit since 2021’s Sooryavanshi. His last five films could not make much of an impact at the box office. His last few releases – Selfiee (Rs 16.85 crore), Ram Setu (Rs 71.87 crore), Raksha Bandhan (Rs 44.39 crore), Samrat Prithviraj (Rs 68.05 crore) and Bachchhan Panday (Rs 49.98 crore) flopped badly, which led many to question his film choices. In OMG 2, Akshay has a supporting role with Pankaj Tripathi leading the film.
