Neha Dhupia says her mother kept telling her to marry Angad Bedi even when she was dating other people

Neha’s mother said, “I remember it was evening time, and everybody was having tea, and they said they want to get married. We said, ‘Kar lo’. This was our reaction, because we’d been after her to get married for the longest time. And now that she was coming to us and telling us that she wants to, what could be better? We asked, ‘Kab karni hai?'” She said that she was pleased that Neha and Angad approached them with the news, instead of going off and getting married secretly.

Neha said that her parents hadn’t been pushing her to get married for too long, but the topic would come up occasionally. Asked if she was skeptical about how her parents would react to Angad, she said with a laugh, “If you want to know the truth, when I was in other relationships, my mom was telling me to get married to Angad. So please, can I just tell you, my mom is very fond of Angad. They would say, ‘But he’s so nice, why are you dating other people? Yeh toh apne ghar mein hai (He’s one of us already). It was always Angad, Angad.”

Neha said that the universe conspired to bring them together, and when she was breaking up with an ex-boyfriend, “As a joke, that guy also said, ‘I know you’re going to get married to Angad’.” Neha and Angad did indeed get married in 2018. They have two children — daughter Mehr and son Guriq.
