Navjot Singh Sidhu recalls his first meeting with Shah Rukh Khan: ‘Always knew this man would go a long way’

While praising Shah Rukh Khan, Navjot Singh Sidhu recalled their first meeting, which made him realise that SRK will go a long way in Bollywood.

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan attended the IPL 2024 match between his team Kolkata Knight Riders and Sunrisers Hyderabad at Kolkata’s Eden Gardens on Sunday. While many pictures and videos of Shah Rukh from the match surfaced online, the sweetest of words came from Navjot Singh Sidhu, who was the special guest on Star Sports’ Cricket Live. While praising SRK, Sidhu recalled their first meeting, which made him realise that ‘King Khan’ will go a long way in Bollywood.

Praising SRK, Sidhu said, “Shah Rukh Khan is quite an honorary figure. I have heard from Abhishek Bachchan that SRK is the most secure person ever in the industry. He often encourages other actors.” Sidhu also recalled his first meeting with SRK and said, “I once met him at Model School ground. At that time, he was doing Circus and there was a show called Fauji. I asked him what he wanted to do and he said he wanted to go to Bollywood. When I enquired how he planned to do so without having a relative, and with the competition there, how did he plan to be successful? That is when he said, ‘I don’t compete with anyone but myself.’ I have never forgotten this incident. That day I knew that this man would go a long way. He is as humble as he is successful.”

Shah Rukh Khan sported an off-white T-shirt and blue denim at the IPL match. The videos and photos that surfaced online show SRK rooting and cheering for KKR.
