Actor Nana Patekar is infamous for his short temper. There have been several incidents of the actor getting into heated altercations on the sets of films such as Parinda, and Khamoshi. Recently, Nana Patekar admitted that he is quite a violent person, and said that if he weren’t an actor, he’d probably have been ‘in the underworld’. He said that acting gives him an outlet to release his pent-up emotions.

Speaking with Siddharth Kannan, the actor said, “People were scared of me. I was too violent. I didn’t speak much, I would let my actions do the talking. I am less violent now. But, even today, if someone triggers me, I end up beating them up. If I had not become an actor, I would have been in the underworld. I am not kidding. I am extremely serious about this. Acting gave me an outlet. This became a way of me taking out my frustration.” He shared, “I have beaten up a lot of people. I don’t remember many of their names. I have had a lot of fights.”

He even recalled his infamous fight with filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali on the sets of Khamoshi. “There are possibilities of me returning to work with Sanjay Leela Bhansali, but I guess the way I yelled at him, he must have felt bad. We didn’t work after that. Not that the fight made any difference in our respective lives.”

He confessed, “I do miss working with Sanjay, but the problem is I am very rude. I use extremely harsh words. It must have upset him. However, I never tried to clarify anything with him. What is the use of having known each other for so long, if we have to explain these little things to each other? I don’t even see it as my fault. Let’s see, we will sort it out when the time comes.”

Previously, talking to The Lallantop, Nana Patekar shared the details of his fight with Sanjay Leela Bhansali. He said, “Seema Biswas’ character, my wife, has a heart attack. Both of us are mute, and she is behind me. I am playing cards. I don’t know what is happening behind me. Now, Sanjay wanted me to look back. He said that she is my wife, and we have a non-verbal connection. I should feel from within that something is happening behind me, so I should turn around. But I needed a reason to turn back. I asked him why should I turn back when I don’t know what’s happening?”

This led to a heated argument between the two, after which they never collaborated again.
