Veteran actor Moushumi Chatterjee, who gained popularity with films like Roti Kapda Aur Makaan and Anuraag, recently opened up about an unsavoury remark made by late actor Rajesh Khanna where the star questioned if the father of her child was her husband Jayanta Mukherjee, or actor Vinod Mehra. Moushumi shared that when she heard this from Rajesh Khanna, she also gave it back to him with a similar remark that left Khanna shocked.

In an interview with Lehren Retro, Moushumi said that Rajesh once asked her if she was pregnant with Vinod Mehra’s child. Moushumi said, “Rajesh Khanna played dirty many times. Today, he is no more. I went to see him also in his last stage. He was praising me in front of my younger daughter. He said to her, ‘Your maa was mad but we were all scared of her. She doesn’t believe in any nonsense’.” In the same interview, she also revealed that Vinod Mehra was the best man at her wedding.

Talking about Khanna’s remark, Moushumi said, “Yes, I gave him back. I asked him, ‘Is it Rishi Kapoor’s child or yours?” Moushumi was speaking in reference to Rajesh and Dimple’s kids and said that her comment left him speechless.

Moushumi further said that she wasn’t in the good books of popular actors heroes and revealed that she was replaced in many films. The actor said,  “Not only ‘Desh Premi’. ‘Barsaat Ki Ek Raat’ as well. I signed it but then I was out of the picture. Because I never compromise. I had to be ‘yes woman’ on everything. And I can’t do it. Even a lot of elder heroines adviced me that you have good looks and talent but you are not in the good books of the heroes.”
