Manoj Bajpayee reveals how he has managed to avoid quarrels, ‘keep fires at minimum’ in his marriage

Manoj Bajpayee is proving that he is the OG family man one interview after another, as he opens up about his marriage with Shabana Raza. In a new interview, Manoj spoke about how meditation has helped his marriage, and how one needs to put their partner’s needs before their own in order to sustain a relationship.

In a new interview on YouTube channel CineDesi, when Manoj Bajpayee was asked what the secret to his happy marriage was, he said, “There is no secret, believe me. Every day is a new day, and every day you are trying to correct yourself and improve yourself when it comes to staying in the marriage or understanding the other person. Love alone cannot sustain a marriage, here you have to not focus on yourself and focus on the other person who is in the marriage with you, and look at things from her perspective, in my case.”

“Shed everything about yourself — your ego, your insecurity, (if) all of these things you’re ready to shed off (then) there are better chances that quarrels will be very less, fires will be minimum. When we keep putting ourselves first, this is where things start to go wrong. If you think that the other person should not ignore a certain thing, I think you should talk at a calmer time. I think talking helps,” he added.

Talking about how practicing meditation helped him in his marriage, Manoj said, “Meditation is all about practice, some days are very bad, some days are blissful, but the end result is life-changing. It actually makes you work better, actually makes you a better husband, makes you a better father, a better son, better friend.”

Manoj met Shabana in the 90s, and they tied the knot in 2006. On the work front, the actor is currently promoting his film Bandaa, which will stream on ZEE5 later this month. He recently told indianexpress.com that his popular series The Family Man’s season 3 is all set to go on floors by the end of this year.
