In a recent interview, Kylie Minogue reminisced about her time spent in Mumbai during the filming of the song, 'Chiggy Wiggy', from Akshay Kumar's Blue

International pop star Kylie Minogue recently released Tension II, the 17th album of her career. In addition to the dizzying heights of success she enjoys all over the world, she has a special connection with India. The Grammy Award-winning musician collaborated with AR Rahman on the 2009 film, Blue, headlined by Akshay Kumar, Sanjay Dutt, Katrina Kaif and Lara Dutta. The song ‘Chiggy Wiggy’ created quite the impact 15 years back, and continues to be a favourite even in 2024.
In an interview with The Times of India, Kylie spoke about a multitude of things, including her connection with Mumbai, and a possible dinner invitation from Akshay Kumar. “One day I will perform Chiggy Wiggy in India, that’s my mission,” said Kylie as she discussed a possible concert in the country.
When asked about potential collaborators from the present crop of artistes, a pragmatic Kylie said that there are so many talents that she’d like to work with, but can’t name one. Leaving the gates open for such exchange of ideas, Kylie assured that there are many she admires and looks up to. In fact, she urged all artists to remember that there is no point trying to be someone else.
Talking about her memories of working with AR Rahman and spending time in Mumbai, Kylie said that it was a ‘whirlwind’. From having a memorable lunch with Akshay Kumar to dance rehearsals with Farah Khan, Kylie said that she wished the stint was longer. “Maybe Akshay will invite me for lunch again,” said Kylie.
