After an actor and entrepreneur, Kriti Sanon has stepped into the shoes of a producer with her film Do Patti. The actress is all set to star in double role in the film alongside her Dilwale co-star Kajol in the lead role. With the film all set to premiere on Netflix from October 25, the actress recently spoke about the high entourage cost of stars which often becomes a burden on the producers.

In a recent interview with Bollywood Bubble, the actress said, “My vision is still the same. When we talk about hair, makeup and costume, they make the character to a large extent. Having said that, there are a lot of unnecessary entourage, which some times certain actors might get. We have to be mindful of it. If I am doing an action film, it is important for the character to have a trainer and a nutritionist or when I had to gain 15 kgs for Mimi, I had a nutritionist whose cost was on the production. But, if I am doing it for my luxury and well-being and if it is not as necessary for the film, then that should not be on production. So these basics I understand and agree with it. Some unnecessary, stupid cost should not come in the production. You got to have a cap on it.”

Kajol, who too is a part of her husband’s production company, Ajay Devgn Films, shared her views on the entourage cost in an interview with NDTV. She said, “I think it depends film to film. In some cases, I do find some of the requests absolutely ridiculous. There are two sides of the coin, and I think they should be taken from case to case. Both as an actor and producer, I think there should be a cap on it.”

Previously, several filmmakers and producers made revelations about high entourage cost and stars demanding for multiple vanity vans for meetings, gyms, and makeup and as many as five chefs for different meals.

In an interview with Film Companion, Kriti Sanon said, “I don’t know which film you are talking about, but whichever it is, those are too many cooks, to begin with! But if you are in a film where you need to make a certain kind of body for that particular role, then obviously from the actor a lot of effort goes into achieving that. The expenses then, rightly so, the producer takes care of. So, you need to understand what is needed and what is luxury. The producers have to take a call.”
