Kapil Sharma’s journey is one of India’s most iconic rags-to-riches stories. From a boy-next-door in Punjab to becoming a household name with Comedy Circus and then his own shows, his rise has been extraordinary. But with fame came whispers that success had gone to his head—specifically, that he was never punctual. Over the years, even stars like Juhi Chawla and Amitabh Bachchan have taken playful digs at him for showing up late.

Now, Kiku Sharda has revealed that Kapil has turned things around and is now strictly punctual on set. The conversation unfolded on Ranveer Allahbadia’s podcast when Kiku said, “I am very particular about time.”

He added, “If I have to reach at 12, even if I am 15 minutes late, I get very stressed and annoyed wondering why I got late.”

Hearing this, Ranveer remarked, “This is very new to our industry. Nobody is ever on time.” He went on to say, “The only punctual Bollywood actors I have met are Ananya Panday, Janhvi Kapoor, and Sonakshi Sinha. They either come on time or before time.”

He also recalled once waiting nearly nine hours for a podcast guest and asked Kiku, “Do you all ever wait that long for your show?”

Kiku responded, “People mostly come on time. It’s not one of the things you’re doing that day—it’s the only thing you’re doing that day. So people come on time.”

Addressing the long-standing chatter around Kapil’s delays, Kiku added, “There was a time when people said ‘Kapil doesn’t come on time,’ but now even he comes on time—and so do the guests.”

This isn’t the first time Kapil’s punctuality has been teased. On Kaun Banega Crorepati, Amitabh Bachchan once joked with him, “Aaj aap theek time pe aaye hai. Aapko humne milna tha 12 baje, theek 4.30 baje aa gaye aap,” making Kapil laugh sheepishly.

Kapil had also made headlines for arriving late to host a CCL match. Juhi Chawla, too, once joked that he made her wait for a long time before a shoot.
