Kangana Ranaut takes credit for women curling their hair, outsiders being given more opportunities: ‘I have fought some battles’
Kangana Ranaut took a dig at a certain group of people who support the privileged lot in the industry.

Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut has said that she is proud of the battles she has fought in the film industry. The actor, who said in a new interview that she is fighting against a group of privileged people in Bollywood, opened up about the time when she was treated like a second class citizen. She also appeared to take credit for cultural changes, such as women curling their hair and the industry being more open to accepting outsiders.
In an interview with ABP, Kangana said, “The people who were not giving breaks to outsiders are now giving them breaks. There are so many people who used to straighten their hair, but now they are going for curls. So, I am saying that I have fought some battles, and I am proud of myself, since I come from a small town.”
Kangana said that she is not fighting against a single person, she is fighting against the group who supports the ‘privileged lot.’ The actor added, “There is a group that supports the privileged lot. When I first came to the industry, I could not speak English and they made fun of me. According to them, if a person does not come from a film background they don’t have a background at all. They treat you like second class citizens.” She also spoke about how the late actor Sushant Singh Rajput was treated in the industry and said that they troubled him.
When asked about her appreciation for her nemesis Karan Johar’s tweet in Hindi, Kangana said, “One should be proud of their heritage and culture.” On the work front, Kangana will next be seen in the film Emergency. Kangana has also directed the film, which features Anupam Kher, Mahima Chaudhary and Milind Soman, among others.
