Kangana Ranaut on Chandramukhi 2: ‘First time I have been part of a big entertainer playing a larger-than-life character’

Actor Kangana Ranaut will showcase her dancing skills in her upcoming Tamil film Chandramukhi 2, in which she plays the role of a classical dancer known for her enchanting beauty. Calling the character larger-than-life, the actor said that it was the first time that she was part of such a film.

Chandramukhi 2 is a sequel to the 2005 film Chandramukhi, which starred Jyotika and Rajinikanth. Both the films have been directed by P Vasu.

In an interview with IANS, Kangana opened up about her role in Chandramukhi 2. She said, “I play a larger-than-life character in a quintessential paisa-vasool entertainer. It’s a mix of genres. The film has a bit of action, comedy, horror, romance and is also a musical. In fact, this is the first time I have been part of a big entertainer playing a larger-than-life character.”

Recently, the film’s first track “Swagathaanjali” gave fans a glimpse of Kangana’s character.

Oscar-winning music composer MM Keeravaani, who has composed music for Chandramukhi 2, had said that Kangana Ranaut has done a great job in the film. At the movie’s audio launch, he said, “She has given a stunning performance and everyone will get blown away after seeing Kangana’s shocking act as Chandramukhi on the big screen.”

Chandramukhi 2 also stars Raghav Lawrence in a pivotal role. The film is slated to release in September on the festival of Ganesh Chathurthi.
