John Abraham is asked when will he do non-action films at Vedaa trailer launch, actor shoots back: ‘Can I call out bad questions and idiots?’

'Judge me once you've seen it, but if you're wrong I'm going to tear you apart,' John Abraham joked as he took on an uncomfortable question at the trailer launch of Vedaa.

No one messes with John Abraham, but someone at the trailer launch of his latest film Vedaa did— and the result surprised no one. The actor called out a reporter for asking a “bad question” about his career over the years, which has tilted more towards big actioners.

At the press conference, a journalist told Abraham that the actor has only been focusing on action films and said, “Kuch naya laayee na sir (Do some different films, sir).” A visibly annoyed Abraham shot back and said, “Have you seen the film (Vedaa)? Can I call out bad questions and idiots?”

The media person then doubled down and said the trailer was enough to hint that John Abraham has been doing similar kind of cinema. The actor, who had by then composed himself, answered politely, “I want to directly tell you that this film is different. At least for me, what I’ve done is a very intense performance. Since you haven’t seen the film yet… Maybe watch the film first and then judge. After that I am all yours. Whatever you say. But if you’re wrong, I’m going to turn you around and tear you apart,” the actor quipped.

Vedaa is directed by Nikkhil Advani and also stars Sharvari, Abhishek Banerjee and Tamannaah Bhatia. The film is John’s fourth collaboration with Nikkhil’s Emmay Entertainment after Batla House and the two Satyameva Jayate films.

“With all due respect to Batla House, Satyameva Jayate and everything we have done, Vedaa is the best work Nikkhil and I have done together. It’s outstanding,” John Abraham said and added that the upcoming film has shaped out well and will click at the box office.

“I tell the team always that when a film isn’t good, no amount of marketing will help it. I’m pumped and I’m proclaiming on stage, Vedaa is a really good film. It’ll work. Now how much will it work, I don’t know. But it has fantastic actors and Nikkhil as the director. I’m saying this on-record—and I’m a half-Parsi, so if something’s bad, I say it. I don’t care. Vedaa is a very good film,” he added.
