Javed Akhtar on daughter Zoya launching star kids: ‘She shouldn’t be questioned…’

Javed Akhtar said, “She has all the right to take anybody under the sun. She shouldn’t be questioned. She is taking the risk. It is her project and she is backing it.”

Javed also said that filmmakers take personal risks with a movie and are not funded by a large organisation or the government. Hence they have the right to cast whoever they wish to.

The Archies stars Vedang Raina, Dot, Mihir Ahuja and Yuvraj Menda along with Shah Rukh Khan’s daughter Suhana Khan, Boney Kapoor’s daughter Khushi Kapoor and Amitabh Bachchan’s grandson Agastya Nanda.

Further talking about the nepotism debate, Javed Akhtar said, “There is a lot of talk about nepotism in the film industry. Nepotism film industry mein ho hi nahi sakta. Duniya mein har jagah ho jaye, par yaha nahi ho sakta. Yahan nepotism isiliye nahi hain kyunki aadmi yaha khud risk le raha hain. Wo kisi aur ke kandhe pe bandook rakhe huye hain (Nepotism cannot exist in the film industry. It can exist anywhere in the world but not here because people take risks here and don’t depend on other people).”
