Following the tradition set by her late mother Sridevi, Janhvi Kapoor visited the Tirupati temple on Tuesday, which is also the actor’s birth anniversary. The Ulajh actor was accompanied by her rumoured boyfriend, Shikhar Pahariya, on this religious trip. Videos and photos of the couple at the temple, surrounded by security, have been circulating on social media. Janhvi also shared a glimpse of her trip on Instagram.

In the clip, Janhvi is seen visiting the temple, looking radiant in a yellow silk saree, which she paired with traditional South Indian jewelry. Shikhar is seen walking beside her, dressed in a veshti, a traditional South Indian attire. The couple is also seen seeking blessings as they kneel and bow at the temple. Take a look:

Janhvi also shared photos from her trip to Tirupati. One of the photos shows the temple steps, indicating that she followed the ritual of climbing up to the temple on foot, a practice she observed on her mother’s birth anniversary. Additionally, she shared a throwback photo from her childhood, where she is seen posing with Sridevi after a visit to the temple. She captioned the post, “Happy birthday Mumma ❤️ I love you.”

In an earlier interview with Curly Tales, Janhvi spoke about how she has found refuge in her religion in the past few years and how she has a special attachment to the Tirupati temple. She said, “In the past 5-6 years, I have become very spiritually inclined. I find refuge in my religion and my spirituality, and Lord Balaji specifically. Jab bulawa aata hai (I feel an inner calling) that tells me I need to visit Tirupati, climb the stairs, and seek the auspicious sight of the deity. I have already been to Tirupati three times this year, and I will go again on mom’s birthday.”

On the professional front, Janhvi’s recent release Ulajh was a box office failure. However, she is set to make her Telugu debut with Jr NTR’s Devara: Part 1 and will also be seen alongside Varun Dhawan in Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari.
