Sayani Gupta is one of those rare Bollywood actors who has consistently prioritised quality over quantity, leaving a lasting impact on audiences with each and every one of her performances. For Sayani, who hails from Kolkata and is an alumna of the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), Pune, art is an inseparable part of her life, as reflected in her Mumbai apartment. Recently, the actor gave Brut India a tour of her place, filled with an intriguing mix of paintings, furniture and curated pieces, all while maintaining a minimalist aesthetic as well.

With its white walls, the apartment’s serene interiors mirror the actor’s calm persona and her collections, including books and artefacts, offer glimpses of her personality. The living room is tastefully decorated and has a rocking chair and a comfortable sofa adorned with printed cushions too. Sayani also has a luxurious vanity room where she gets ready. A devoted plant mom, Sayani keeps her ‘babies’ in her bedroom, which receives ample sunlight all the time. She also has a four-poster wooden bed, her favourite stuffed toys, and a small bookshelf in it. When asked how much time she spends on Instagram daily, she admitted that while she does check the platform regularly, there are days when she deletes the app to take a break. She also took part in the “OK Boomer” test, which assessed her knowledge of Gen Z slang and she aced all the questions. “Don’t be a clout chaser cos you slay if you got rizz and then, everyone’s gonna be like, ‘she ate,'” Sayani advised her fans in the Gen Z style.

After making her screen debut with a key role in Second Marriage Dot Com (2012), Sayani earned widespread acclaim for her performance in director Shonali Bose’s Margarita with a Straw (2014). Her impressive body of work includes Parched (2015), Article 15 (2019), Posham Pa (2019), Axone (2019), Zwigato (2022) and Four More Shots Please! (2019).
