Actors Archana Puran Singh and Parmeet Sethi are currently combing through New Delhi along with their son Aaryamann Sethi, trying the local cuisine. In the latest episode of her vlog, Archana and the gang decided to try famous choley bhature joints in the capital, and while all of them were extremely satisfied with the taste, they also heard some very interesting stories along the way.

The trio started their journey with a few ‘dad jokes’ by Sethi before they ended up at their first location in Kamla Nagar, an area known for its street food. After trying the food there along with fresh buttermilk, they then travelled to the famous Sita Ram Diwan Chand restaurant in the Paharganj area of Delhi. They were greeted by the owner, who told them that the shop was started by his grandfather in 1950. He talked about how his grandfather first used to sell choley bhature outside of DAV School before moving to this location in hopes of catching the crowd that was visiting the nearby cinema hall.’

After learning the right way of eating the famous dish, the family was taken aback by one of the cooks who worked there. The cook told them that just for the purpose of cooking choley bhature, he had travelled to countries like Sri Lanka, Bahrain, Dubai, Spain, and France. Archana shook his hand and said, ‘Yeh aisi jagah gaye hai, jaha mai bhi nahi gayi’ (He has been to the places that even I haven’t seen). He then started dropping the names of celebrities for whom he has cooked, like Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan and even the Ambanis.

The last name caught Archana’s attention, and before she could ask, the cook said that he had lived in Mukesh Ambani’s lavish house, Antilia, for a whole month. Archana asked him, “Bhaiya andar se kaisa hai?” to which he replied, “Acha hai.”

Parmeet then took them to visit Patel Nagar, where once his ancestral home used to be. He showed the little park where he used to play cricket, and when he told them that he remembers the house number till now, Aaryamann said, “You don’t remember where you have left your wallet, and you still remember this.” Archana added, “He (Parmeet) has told me so many stories of this place, and I really wanted to witness some highlights from his childhood.”

As if almost following a rite of passage, the gang found themselves at the famous Ram Choley Bhature, which became known across the country after Indian cricketer Virat Kohli called it his favourite place for the dish in question. After finishing yet another plate of food, they all clicked pictures with the owners of the restaurant. The final consensus of the group was that Diwan Chand was the best place to have choley bhature, followed by Chache Di Hatti in Kamla Nagar, and then finally Ram Choley Bhature in Rajouri Garden.
