Adipurush, the film based on Ramayan, found itself in controversy as soon as it released as many found the dialogues by Manoj Muntashir extremely objectionable. Even though the makers revised the dialogues of the film, the damage was done as the audience did not visit the theatres after the first weekend. The Kashmir Files director Vivek Agnihotri, who is also a part of the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), was recently asked about the role of CBFC in clearing a film that could potentially hurt people's sentiments. Agnihotri, in an interview with India.com, said that he is a part of the board, but hasn't watched Adipurush. "I am part of the CBFC board but the board does not watch the film. The examining committee watches the film. I don't know what happened to the film at what stage and why it happened," he said. The director said that he has not watched Adipurush yet as he was busy shooting for his next film, The Vaccine War. Vivek Agnihotri insisted that he does not like to comments on other people's films but added that when it comes to matters of faith, one should be very responsible and careful. "One should be very responsible and sensitive when dealing with faith. What's your faith. What is someone else's faith. It's like a mother believing that her child is the most beautiful child in the world. I have no right to say that the child is less beautiful because it is the faith and love of the mother. All logic fails when it comes to love and faith. And hurting someone's faith is like a sin," he said. Along with Adipurush's dialogues, the visual effects and the performances by the lead cast including Prabhas, who played Raghav, have been criticised. The film also starred Kriti Sanon and Saif Ali Khan in lead roles.
