FIR lodged against Sanjay Leela Bhansali for fraud, misbehaviour, and breach of trust by Love and War line producer
Hospitality CEO Prateek Raj Mathur has accused filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali and two of his team members of removing him from Love & War without payment after assigning him responsibilities as the line producer, the Bikaner police said.

An FIR has been lodged against Sanjay Leela Bhansali and two others in Rajasthan’s Bikaner after a man alleged fraud, misbehaviour, and breach of trust during the production of the director’s upcoming film Love & War. The complaint was filed by Hospitality CEO Prateek Raj Mathur, who claimed that he was given a contract as a line producer by Bhansali, but it was cancelled later.
Mathur has accused Bhansali and two of his team members of removing him from the project without payment after assigning him responsibilities as the line producer, the Bikaner police said. They added the FIR was registered under charges of fraud, criminal conspiracy and criminal intimidation against Bhansali, Arvind Gill, and Utkarsh Bali at Bichhwal police station in Bikaner on Monday following a court order.
As per The News Minute, Mathur has also alleged that he made all necessary arrangements for the film’s shoot, including arranging security measures for the film’s cast, and coordinated with government departments as required. Despite repeated requests, a formal agreement with Mathur wasn’t signed by Bhansali Productions. However, he did receive an email confirming his role as a line producer on Love & War.
However, when he went to meet the film team at Narendra Bhawan Bikaner on August 17, Bhansali and Bhansali Productions managers Utkarsh Bali and Arvind Gill, allegedly misbehaved with him. Mathur alleged he was pushed, insulted, and threatened that his company’s future projects would be jeopardized.
While a police complaint wasn’t filed initially, Mathur approached the court, following which the cops were directed to register the complaint. The police is further investigating the matter. SCREEN reached out to Bhansali Productions, but hasn’t received a response to this matter till the time of publishing.
Love & War is billed as an “epic saga,” and features Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Vicky Kaushal in the lead roles. The movie is slated to be released in theatres in 2026. It marks real-life couple Ranbir and Alia’s reunion after their first film together, Ayan Mukerji’s 2022 supernatural drama Brahmastra: Part One – Shiva.
Love & War also marks Ranbir’s reunion with Bhansali after his 2007 acting debut, Saawariya. Prior to that, Ranbir had served as an Assistant Director to Bhansali on the sets of his 2005 critically acclaimed film Black. Meanwhile, Alia will reunite with Bhansali after their 2022 blockbuster Gangubai Kathiawadi. Interestingly, Ranbir had taken Alia’s audition for the role of the young Michelle in Black years ago.
Love & War also reunites Vicky with Ranbir after Rajkumar Hirani’s 2018 blockbuster Sanju, and with Alia after Meghna Gulzar’s 2018 hit spy thriller Raazi. However, it marks Vicky’s maiden collaboration with Bhansali. Both Ranbir and Vicky play Indian Air Force officers in this triangular love story. Bhansali has previously shot his memorable films like Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam (1999), Bajirao Mastani (2015), and Padmaavat (2018) in Rajasthan.
