‘Don’t know how AR Rahman could make such a bad song’: Sonu Nigam shreds ‘Chiggy Wiggy’
Sonu Nigam said that he has tried to revive the song 'Chiggy Wiggy' on stage, but still can't get himself to actually admire it.

With the Akshay Kumar-starrer Blue, AR Rahman delivered one of his most mainstream soundtracks. One of the songs, “Chiggy Wiggy,” crooned by Sonu Nigam and featuring Akshay and Kylie Minogue, became popular and developed its own fanbase. However, Sonu Nigam himself didn’t think highly of it. Calling it a terrible song, he said that having international pop-star Kylie should have raised the standard.
In an interview with Red FM India, Sonu said, “Chiggy Wiggy bohot hi bekaar gana hai. I don’t like the song at all. I don’t know why Rahman made such a bad song. I mean, how can they get Kylie Minogue on board and make such a bad song. I felt good that he thought about me for the song, but with Kylie Minogue, the standards could have been increased.”
He continued, “But sometimes, even Rahman can make mistakes. But I do not like the song at all. The song could have been much better. With Kylie Minogue, we could have made a song of her level. I tried a lot to sing this song on stage and revive it.”
Kylie became a sensation in India after appearing in the film. Previously, in a chat with ANI, she looked back on her Bollywood experience and said, “Working with AR Rahman was a real thrill. It was a rather different style for me and it kind of lived in its own world but what is surprising is how many people remember it and mention it to me. Maybe it’s having a revival?”
Sonu Nigam and T-Series’ Bhushan Kumar recently announced a new collaboration, titled ‘Bitter Betrayal.
