Senior actor Dalip Tahil recently opened up about the rumours of Jaya Prada slapping him during a shoot. As per multiple reports, while shooting an intimate scene, Tahil crossed a line, which lead to Jaya slapping him. The Baazigar actor laughed at the suggestion, and said in an interview that he was amused at those reports because he has never worked with her in the first place.
“When I read those reports, I was quite surprised. I really respect Jaya Prada ji, and she is one of the most beautiful actors. But I was wondering what is this film. Yeh kaunsi picture thi? If someone can point out which film it is, I would know. From what I know, I don’t think I have shared any screen time with her. I haven’t done any film with her,” he told Siddharth Kanan in the interview.
In the same interview, Dalip Tahil also opened up about his experience filming for his first-ever commercial movie scene and mentioned that it also featured Amitabh Bachchan. “We were shooting on Ambedkar Road in Bandra, and that was my first commercial film scene. The scene featured me, a member of the villain’s gang, getting a shave when Bachchan Saab comes and snatches my knife, holding it close to my throat to extract information,” Tahil recalled.
“While I was waiting on the set, I heard a voice from behind saying, ‘Hi, I am Mr Amitabh Bachchan.’ Immediately, I started feeling unwell. Due to my background in theatre, I thought I could handle the scene, but everything fell apart when I stood in front of him to shoot the actual scene. I began forgetting my lines,” he said. He added, “Observing this, Bachchan Saab came up to me and said, ‘Relax. Don’t worry. Take your time. Do whatever you need to do. Don’t think it’s me who is standing in front of you; just proceed with the scene as you wish.’ It took three-four takes, but he made me feel at ease.”
Dalip Tahil was last seen in Sailesh Kolanu’s action suspense-thriller HIT: The First Case (2022).
