Actors Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff promoted their upcoming film, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, at an event in Lucknow on Monday. They had planned on entertaining their fans by performing live stunts and gifting some merchandise from the film. But the situation became out of control as the two stars threw some freebies into the crowd. To control the situation, the security personnel resorted to a lathi-charge. Several videos from the incident have been shared on social media.
In one of the videos, Akshay and Tiger were seen entering the Clock Tower, Husainabad, hanging on wires. They were greeted with cheers from the large crowd. Akshay also welcomed them to the event. Another video had him wishing everyone “Eid Mubarak”.
However, one of the videos showed the crowd moving towards the stage and policemen trying to maintain order. Meanwhile, Akshay and Tiger were seen throwing freebies towards the crowd. In a matter of few seconds, Akshay was heard requesting people, as they tried to grab the freebies, “Aap logon se haath jodd kar vinti hai please araam se, hum aapke yahan aaye hain hain, aapse milne, aapse baat karne, please apne aapko dekhiye, saath mein ladies bhi hain bachche bhi hain, main aapse request karta hun araam se (I request you with folded hands, please be careful. We have come here to meet you, to talk to you. Please be careful, there are ladies and children too. I request you all to be careful).”
As the videos from the event went viral, many social media users were stunned. One of the users commented, “What the hell?”. Another wrote, “Ye kya ho raha hai? (What is happening here?)
Earlier on Monday, Akshay had shared a picture of himself with Tiger as they reached Lucknow for the promotions of their film. “Pehle aap muskuraiye, kyunki Bade aur Chote ab Lucknow mein hain! Milte hain, aaj dopahar, Clock Tower Maidan mein,” Akshay captioned the picture.
Helmed by Ali Abbas Zafar, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan will hit theatres on Eid 2024. Shot across Mumbai, London, Abu Dhabi, Scotland, and Jordan, the pan-India drama also stars Prithviraj Sukumaran as the antagonist. Sonakshi Sinha, Manushi Chhillar, and Alaya F will also be seen in the movie.
