Marjaavaan box office collection prediction: Sidharth-Riteish film to earn Rs 4-5 crore on Day 1

Marjaavaan box office collection prediction: Sidharth Malhotra starrer might face competition from Bala in multiplexes.

Sidharth Malhotra and Riteish Deshmukh’s Marjaavaan releases on Friday. The film, helmed by Milap Zaveri, is a romantic drama with Sidharth as the protagonist and Riteish as a vertically challenged villain. Tara Sutaria plays Sidharth’s love interest in the film. From the trailer and the songs, Marjaavaan looks like a masala entertainer with over-the-top action and drama. According to film trade analyst Girish Johar, this would be the driving point of the film since movie buffs haven’t been offered a commercial-masala film for a long time.

“Marjaavan is looking like a commercial masala entertainer. Milap Zaveri is coming with this film after Satyameva Jayate, which was again a mass entertainer. It is after a long time a film is coming which will cater to the B and C towns and the audience of hardcore action drama. Riteish Deshmukh is the key element of this film. He has played a dwarf villain, and he is looking fabulous. The songs have also been appreciated,” said Girish Johar as he discussed the key elements working in favour of this week’s release Marjaavaan.

Predicting the film’s opening collection to be around Rs 4-5 crore, Girish says the combination of Sidharth and Riteish might attract the audience to theaters too. He said, “Sidharth and Riteish are coming together after Ek Villain. People have liked their combination and they have been appreciated in the past. Milap has also helmed box office hits in the past. Now, it all depends on how the audience find the content of the film.”

Other than Marjaavaan, cinephiles also have Ayushmann Khurrana’s Bala running successfully in theaters. The film has impressed critics and a positive word of mouth has led to a good box office collection. So, will Bala affect Marjaavaan’s collection? Girish replied, “Bala might impact Marjaavan in the multiplexes but any which ways Marjaavan is not for the upper class audience. It is for the audience of mass, commercial entertainers.”
