I Want to Talk box office collectionAbhishek Bachchan's I Want to Talk is facing rough weather at the box office.

I Want to Talk box office collection Day 5: Abhishek Bachchan’s latest film, I Want to Talk, has failed to make a significant impact at the box office. Despite receiving positive reviews from critics, the film has struggled to attract audiences, with its total collection standing at a mere Rs 1.68 crore (nett) after five days of its release.

The film’s poor performance can be attributed, in part, to the lack of promotion and marketing efforts. The film’s release seemed to have caught many by surprise, with several people taking to social media to express their surprise that the film was even releasing. The film’s small-scale release, limited to a few screens across the country, also did little to generate buzz and excitement around the film.

According to industry tracking website Sacnilk, on its first day, the film collected a paltry Rs 25 lakh. The subsequent days saw a marginal increase in the film’s collections, but it was not enough to salvage the film’s overall performance. On its second day, the film collected Rs 55 lakh, taking its total to Rs 80 lakh. The third day saw a slight improvement, with the film collecting Rs 53 lakh, but the total still remained a modest Rs 1.33 crore. The fourth day’s collection was Rs 17 lakh, and on Tuesday, its fifth day in cinemas, the film collected Rs 18 lakh, bringing its total nett collection to Rs 1.68 crore.

Interestingly, I Want to Talk’s box office earnings were even lower than those of The Sabarmati Report, a film starring Vikrant Massey, Raashi Khanna, and Ridhi Dogra that released last week. Despite being labeled as a propaganda film, The Sabarmati Report managed to collect Rs 90 lakh on its 12th day in theaters, surpassing the earnings of I Want to Talk. Vikrant’s film has collected Rs 20.40 crore nett. Compared to Monday, the film has performed slightly better on Tuesday.

I Want To Talk witnessed a dismal occupancy rate of 9.38% in the Hindi market throughout the day, with most people catching the night show. In Mumbai, where only 75 shows are running, the occupancy stood at 12.25%, whereas in Delhi and NCR, with 140 shows, the occupancy was 7.75%.

Despite its poor box office performance, industry insiders are optimistic that the film will perform well once it drops on a streaming platform. The film’s small-scale release and lack of promotion suggest it may have been intended for a digital release. As such, the film will likely find its audience and receive a more positive reception once it becomes available on streaming platforms.
