Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 vs Singham Again box office collection day 9: While Ajay Devgn's film collected almost Rs 11.5 crores, Kartik Aaryan-starrer made almost Rs 15.5 crore.

Kartik AaryanKartik Aaryan opened up on Singham Again and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 clash.

Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 vs Singham Again box office collection Day 9: This Diwali, Hindi cinema had the clash between the old guard and the new one as Rohit Shetty’s Singham Again was fighting it out with Anees Bazmee’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. Both were the third instalments of a very successful franchise, and had high expectations riding on them. On the ninth day of its release, both films have impressively held on to double digit collections. While Ajay Devgn’s Singham Again has collected almost Rs 11.5 crores, Kartik Aaryan’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 had a considerably better Saturday as the film made almost Rs 15.5 crore. It was a massive jump for Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 mainly because it had a comparatively slower Thursday and Friday earning a shade less than Rs 10 crores on both days. Singham Again too had a steady decline over the same time period, but managed to buck the trend on Saturday. With the total domestic collection of Singham Again and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 at Rs 192.5 crore and Rs 183 crore, respectively, it might seem like the former is winning the race.

But it is important to note that Singham Again, starring Ajay Devgn, Kareena Kapoor Khan, and Arjun Kapoor with cameos from Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Akshay Kumar had a massive Rs 121.75 crore opening weekend. In comparison, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 with Kartik, Madhuri Dixit and Vidya Balan made a more than decent Rs 106 crore. But since then, both films have been going neck-to-neck, with the horror comedy franchise gaining a slight edge over the starry action drama.

The true reflection of this clash lies in the audience occupancy across the country as Bhool Bhulaiyya 3, in its second week, is still holding on to almost 36% occupancy as opposed to Singham Again, which has a 30% occupancy. Take, for instance, Mumbai and NCR where BB3 did a 44.5% (801 shows) and 34.75% (1060 shows) and Singham Again did 38.5% (814 shows) and 25 % (906 shows). The fortunes of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 is certainly looking up, and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see it surpass the collections of Singham Again in the domestic market as the days progress.
