Actor Yash will make his long-awaited comeback to the big screens with the film Toxic: A Fairy-Tale for Grown-Ups, which has now been slated for release on March 19 2026. Toxic marks Yash’s first film since 2022’s KGF: Chapter 2, which remains the fourth-biggest Indian hit of all time, with over Rs 1300 in revenue. The announcement was made with a new poster, which teased the film’s gangster setting, and Yash’s look.

Fans got their first glimpse of Toxic through a teaser that was released some months ago. It showed the protagonist entering a club of some kind, where he engaged in revelry with women and booze. The movie appears to pay homage to the film noir genre that became popular during the 1940s and 1950s in Hollywood. The poster shows Yash walking towards us, wearing a fedora and wielding a Tommy gun. The film is directed by Geetu Mohandas, who broke out with the Malayalam-language drama Moothon.

Toxic will clash at the box office with director Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love & War, which is currently in production with stars Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal. The movie will hit the screens a day after Toxic, setting up an iconic clash, perhaps the biggest since Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 and Singham Again debuted together in 2024. Incidentally, Ranbir and Yash are also set to star in the two-part Ramayana adaptation, directed by Nitesh Tiwari. Yash plays Raavana in the film, which features Ranbir as Lord Rama. The first part of the duology will be released later in 2026.

Toxic also features Kiara Advani, Huma Qureshi, Nayanthara, Tara Sutaria, and others. Earlier on Saturday, the otherwise under-the-radar Yash also appeared in an advertisement for Coca-Cola.
