Animal makers’ official page takes dig at Swanand Kirkire after writer raises concern over Ranbir Kapoor’s controversial film
Not all were happy with Animal the Film page's response to Swanand Kirkire, multiple National Award-winning artiste, whose work spans more than two decades.

Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s film Animal is unstoppable at the box office and quite unhinged on Twitter. The official page of the Ranbir Kapoor starrer held back no punches as it took a jibe at writer Swanand Kirkire, who had voiced his displeasure over the film’s treatment of women and launched a similar sarcastic dig at film critic Anupama Chopra.
Animal has emerged as the most polarising film of the year, with makers being slammed for peddling misogyny and an almost vulgar display of excessive violence– mental, emotional as well as physical.
Swanand, who was one of the firsts from the industry to call the action drama out, had expressed his discomfort over Animal’s treatment of women and had shared on X–formerly Twitter–how the film is taking the future of Indian cinema towards a more “dangerous and scary” direction.
The official page of Animal, which has more than 13 thousand followers and is also followed by the film’s production house T-Series, shared a newspaper clipping of Swanand’s statement with a vaguely worded tweet, attacking the writer-actor-singer, who was also tagged in the post.
“Do not let your knees fall ahead of your toes or cave in towards each other. Keep feet shoulder-width apart to maintain a good base of support for balance. Land softly on the balls of the feet to help absorb the force of the landing. Yes…. now it landed perfectly 😘,” the tweet read.

Reading the aggressive energy of the tweet, fans of the film were quick to joke that it may have been Sandeep Reddy Vanga himself, who put out the tweet. “😂 Vanga forgot to switch the account,” a user wrote, while another said, “He has taken over now”.
Not all were happy with the page’s response to Swanand, a lauded multiple National Award-winning artiste, whose work spans more than two decades. “Earning Money isn’t everything Mr. Vanga. Try to earn some respect!” said a user, while another commented, “Go to a therapist ASAP Vanga!”.
The official Animal The Film page also took a potshot at Anupama Chopra. On December 1, after she had watched Animal, Anupama had tweeted, “Can I just say I miss Kabir. #Animal”. Anupama Chopra was among the countless Indian film crictics who had called Kabir Singh “problematic”.
Quote-tweeting her, the official page of Animal attached the Netflix link and wrote, “You can watch your favourite #KabirSingh again here…🤗 ,” leading once again to fans rejoicing at the supposed comeback. “Hence confirmed @imvangasandeep manages this page🤣” wrote one user.

Animal has pretty much disrupted the social media discourse around films, with extreme polarising reactions coming from both, who hated and loved it. The film is on its way to becoming one of the biggest Bollywood hits in the history of Hindi cinema.
