Actor-comedian Kapil Sharma recently appeared on the show, Aap Ki Adalat. The actor recalled a moment when his anxiety made it difficult for him to leave the house without consuming alcohol. He also discussed how he met Amitabh Bachchan when drunk and acknowledged that it was a humiliating experience for him.

Kapil said that he never had a drinking problem and explained that it was because of anxiety he used to feel that he would not be able to go in front of anyone or speak to anyone. Explaining about how he met Bachchan for a shoot, the comedian said, Bachchan sahab ne bola ki main subha aaraha hoon. Kyuki meri film ke voice over ke liye aarahe the toh mera farz banta hai ki main jaake unke welcome ke liye khada rahun. Main bahar nahi nikal pata tha ghar se, awastha waise thi toh mujhe laga 2 (drinks) le lete hai (Bacchan sir said that he will come in the morning. Since he was coming for the voice-over of my film, it was my duty to welcome him. But I was not in a position to get out of my house, hence I consumed alcohol).”

The actor said that Bachchan, who reached the location at 8 am, had completed the dubbing before he reached. However, Kapil insisted on meeting Bachchan and said, Maine kaha mujhe Bachchan sahab se milke ‘Thank you’ bolna hai. Maine jaake unke pair chuee aur bola ‘Thank you’ (I said I want to meet Bachchan sir. I want to say Thank you. I went and touched his feet).”

Kapil also revealed that he apologized to Bachchan the next day. The comedian sent a message which read, “Sir, sorry mujhe aise aapke saamne nahi aana chhaiye tha. Fir unhone Hindi mein bada aacha message likha ki jeevan chunotiyon ka hi doohra naam hai. Toh aap uthke dobara khade hoiye (I am sorry, I should not have appeared in front of you drunk. He then replied and send a message in Hindi).”
